The 2024 season will mark Coach Kirk Wagner’s third season coaching the St. Pius X Boys’ Varsity soccer program. In his first season, Coach Wagner lead the boys to the GHSA 5A State Finals where they finished runners-up. Last year, the boys made it to the Elite 8 where they lost to eventual champions Lassiter. Coach Wagner holds an “A” license from the United States Soccer Federation. Coach Wagner also holds an MBA from Texas A&M University at College Station, TX and a BA from St. Edwards University at Austin, TX. Coach Wagner is supported by his wife Valentina Wagner, daughters Sky and Stella Wagner, and his two sons, Mathias and Iakovos Wagner. Coach Wagner’s favorite non-soccer hobbies include cooking, traveling, reading, meditating, hiking, and art.

The 2024 season will be Coach Becker’s second season with the St. Pius X soccer program. During the 2023 season, Coach Becker was the JV girls’ coach while assisting with the Varsity boys. Previously, he coached JV boys at South Gwinnett HS and JV boys and Varsity girls Brookwood HS. He also headed the Varsity girls’ coach for seven years at North Gwinnett HS where he coached the team that won the 2019 7A State Championship. His club experiences include coaching girls at Dacula, GSA, and Atlanta Fire. Coach Becker holds a USSF “B” license and a USYSF National license. He lives in Suwanee with Bree, his wife of seventeen years, and Oliver, his nine-year-old superstar.

The 2024 season sees Coach King beginning his second season in charge of the JV boys. Coach King got his first taste of soccer playing recreationally at DDYSC before switching to a more competitive environment, first at TYSA, then CFC Chiefs, and then finally Inter Atlanta where he was his team’s top scorer in a tournament in Spain, the Donosti Cup. He went to Mercer University where he played for a year before taking a break from school. Since then, he has continued to explore the game in various ways including working for a company which installed portable soccer fields for parties and events, soccer podcasting, sports writing, and since 2017, coaching at DDYSC.

Callum Jordan Mordey, born August 19, 1994 in Sunderland, England. Played for Sunderland AFC, Leicester City and Hartlepool United professional youth academies in England. Represented England under 16’s at the four nations tournament earning 4 caps. Played 4 years of collegiate soccer for Georgia Gwinnett College. Won 3 conference championships reaching the national tournament in those same respective years. Captained the team junior and senior year. Also earning second team all conference honors and All tournament teams. He now coaches at Chiefs FC, while working as a soccer instructor in elementary schools around Dekalb county.
