Alumni Playing Professional Baseball
Chandler Simpson ’19 finished the 2023 season with the Bowling Green Hot Rods (Rays High-A Affiliate), after starting the year with the Charleston RiverDogs (Rays Single-A Affiliate), where he hit .285 with 24 RBI and 81 stolen bases in 91 games before being promoted. Between both teams in 2023, Chandler had 94 stolen bases, which tied him for the most in minor league baseball. He spent the 2022 season with the CFL Rays (the Rays rookie-level minor league team), hitting .370. He played for the University of Alabama Birmingham (2020-21) and Georgia Tech (2022) before being selected in the 2nd round of the 2022 MLB Draft by the Tampa Bay Rays.
Quincy Nieporte ’13 played for the Toledo Mud Hens (Detroit Tigers Triple-A Affiliate) in 2023. Quincy spent the 2022 season with the Erie SeaWolves (Detroit Tigers Double-A Affiliate) and was named MVP of the Eastern League. Previously, he played in the Philadelphia Phillies organization (2017-18), with the Schaumburg Boomers in the Frontier League (2019-21) and with the High Point Rockers in the Atlantic League (2021). He played baseball for Tallahassee Community College (2014) and Florida State (2015-17) before being selected in the 26th round of the 2017 MLB Draft by the Philadelphia Phillies.

Xavier Ness ’23 is an outfielder for Piedmont University.
Will Waters ’23 is a catcher for Berry College.
Luke Wiltrakis ’23 is a pitcher for the University of Georgia.
Tate Henderson ’22 is a pitcher at Oglethorpe University. He appeared in 10 games for the Stormy Petrels during his freshman season in 2023.
Charlie Kapp ’22 plays for Andrew College. Charlie played for the Brookhaven Bucks (Sunbelt Baseball League) during the 2023 summer.
Nicko Kostopoulos ’22 plays for Southwest Virginia Community College. He spent his freshman season (2023) at Emmanuel College.
Matt Navarro ’22 is a pitcher at Shorter University.
Devin Portee ’22 is an infielder for Dyersburg State Community College.
Will Tippett ’22 is an infielder for the University of South Carolina. Will played in 47 games for the Gamecocks in 2023, helping the team advance to the Super-Regionals.
Trevor Zimmerman ’22 is a pitcher for Centre College. He appeared in six games for the Colonels in 2023.
Taz Butler ’21 is a pitcher at Walters State Community College and struck out 40 batters in 30 innings during the 2023 season. During the 2022 summer, Taz played for the Brookhaven Bucks (a team in the Sunbelt Baseball League).
John Henry Harrison ’21 is an outfielder at Chattanooga State Community College.
Jack Herring ’21 hit .337 in 42 games for Rollins College in 2023. During the 2023 summer, Jack played for the Bismarck Larks (North Dakota) of the Northwoods League, where he hit .320 with 7 HR and 39 RBI in 48 games and was named to the All-Star team. During the 2022 summer, Jack played for the Brookhaven Bucks (Sunbelt Baseball League) and was named to the All-Sunbelt League team after hitting .340 during the season.
Frankie Maloof ’21 is an outfielder for Washington & Lee University.
Agyei Quinichett ’21 pitched in 22 games, striking out 27 batters in 24.2 inning, for Kennesaw State University during the 2023 season. During the 2022 summer, Agyei played for the Purcellville Cannons (Valley Baseball League), where he struck out 26 batters in 31.2 innings.
Jacob Pajer ’20 is an outfielder for Shorter University. In 2023, he hit .284 with 4 HR, 32 RBI and 25 stolen bases in 45 games. In 2022, he hit .299 and led the team with 48 runs scored and 20 stolen bases. In 2021, he hit .397 with 5 HR, 27 RBI and 20 stolen bases in 40 games and was named the Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Year and the NCAA Division II Freshman of the Year. Jacob played for the Atlanta Crackers (Sunbelt Baseball League) during the 2021 summer and the Covington Lumberjacks (Valley League) during the 2022 summer.
Matthew Turner ’20 is a catcher for Piedmont University. He spent his freshman and sophomore seasons at Maryville College (TN). During the 2021 summer, he hit .474 for the Marietta Patriots (Sunbelt Baseball League).

Griffin Benedict ’05 is 3rd Base Coach for the Miami Marlins. Previously he was the Marlins Quality Assurance Coach (2023), the Hitting Coach for the Iowa Cubs (2021-22), Triple-A Affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, and a Bullpen Coach for the San Diego Padres (2011-20). Griffin played two years of professional baseball in the Padres organization. He batted .342 during his four years at Georgia Southern University.
Paul Benoit ’15 is an Assistant Coach with the Springfield Cardinals, the Double-A Affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. Previously he was an assistant coach at Towson University (2022-23), Ottawa University (2021) and Post University (2020). Coach Benoit was an assistant middle school coach for two seasons (2018-19) for St. Pius X.
Nick Hogan ’05 is the Director of Facility Operations for the Glacier Range Riders (Pioneer Baseball League). In 2022, Nick was the Assistant General Manager and Field Manager for the Range Riders. Previously he was the head coach at Peachtree Ridge High School (2017-21), head coach at Central Gwinnett High School (2014-16) and assistant coach at Georgia State University (2009-13). Nick also coached several summers in the Sunbelt Baseball League with the Brookhaven Bucks and the Gwinnett Astros.
