                                 Points FAQ

Who determines these points? These points are determined automatically by the  National Forensic League point assignment system when Coach Hiland enters the results of each tournament at NFL Online. Points are gained based on the number of tournaments attended and the student's success at each.
Why are these points significant? When a team member earns 25 points he becomes an official member of the National Forensic League and receives a certificate from that organization. Further official degrees (seals) are added to the certificate at various point levels. In addition, team policy dictates that a student receiving 150 points earns a letter in Speech and Debate.
Why is <student name> not listed? As students do not earn membership until they reach 25 points, the National Forensic League does not list them until after that. Students that have never competed also will not be listed. It is also possible that even after competing in one tournament a student will still not be listed because he still has less than 25 points.
