Videotapes:
Duplication
- Copyrighted videos (tapes or DVDs)
can be duplicated only with written permission from the producer/
distributor.
- Blank videocassettes and hard plastic cases are available in
the library
Off-Air
Taping
- Cable
in the Classroom
is available for perusal in the library and contains month by
month listing of educational programs
available for recording from cable television channels (you
can also check the schedule online here http://www.ciconline.org/search-listings)
- Fill
out a request form in the library for each program you want taped
- We
must have it in writing – it's the law
- Be
sure to indicate whether you want VHS or DVD
- Remember
that Discovery Education Streaming (formerly United Streaming)
will have most videos from Discovery Education for you to download
and use; iTunes frequently has programs listed in Cable
in the Classroom as
well
- Any
program may be taped off air and used for class within 10 school
days. These must be erased after use unless permission is received
to keep it.
- Some
programs may be taped and kept without limit. Information on keeping
or erasing will be included in the information from Cable
in the Classroom.
