  • ***NEW- "The Play of Herod" in Latin - 12th century music drama- Friday and Saturday, December 12-13, 2008 at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal in Atlanta
  • Tutankhamun: The Golden King and the Great Pharoahs

         This exhibit features over 130 artifacts from the reign of Tutankhamun as well as

         other treasures.  November 15, 2008 - May 25, 2009 at the Atlanta Civic Center.

Monuments and History Makers of the Month

Titus Flavius Vespasianus (ruled 69-79 A.D.)

  • first emperor of the "Flavian Dynasty"
  • known as "Vespasian"
  • 9th emperor
  • conquered southeast Britain in 43 A.D. under the emperor Claudius
  • served as a consul and governor of Africa
  • trusted aide of Nero and put in charge of suppressing the Jewish Revolt in Judaea (66-79 A.D.)
  • After civil war for the position of emperor began, the Senate declared Vespasian emperor.
  • started the building of the Colosseum with the spoils taken from Jerusalem, restored the finances of the Empire, and restored discipline to the army
  • restored peace and stability to the Empire

  • All projects and portions of projects as required must be turned in on the assigned due date and in the assigned class period whether you're in school or not. Failure to do so will result in an initial 50% deduction from your project grade for the first day late and an additional 10 points for each subsequent one. Students who are absent must still get their projects to school on the due date or before the due date.
