Summer Camp Reminders

The team will depart for team camp @ ASU from St. Pius at 7:45am Sunday 27 July. All campers must hand their completed medical indemnity/conduct form to Coach Guilbeau that morning.

Team Capts

The team captains for the 2008 season are:  Chelsea Chambers, Francis Cobb, Jamie-Lee Keller, Kathleen La Porte, and Carol Raterman.

Summer T-Shirts

Please contact Jamie Lee Keller with your size asap if you want to purchase a "summer running" t-shirt. Orders will taken until Sunday 27 July. The cost is tba depending on the # of shirts ordered but should be between $12-$15.

Congrats to the team as the girls were recognized for their tremendous fundraising efforts with "Running Against MS" by the GA Chapter of Multiple Sclerosis Society at a Board of Directors Meeting. The team was honored with a plaque and an article in "MS Connections".

Congrats to the 2007 Girls' CC Team, as we placed 3rd in state. Sophomore Kathleen La Porte is the 2007 AAAA State Champion with a time of 19:11!  Freshman Erin Osment is the 2007 AAAA State Runner Up with a time of 19:21! Click below for the 4A Girls Results:

23 August Spalding/JAG Invitational (top ten@ 9 am & jv @10 am) Held @ Spalding High School ( 433 Wilson Road
Griffin, GA 30224)

Directions: Take 285 South, merge onto I 675 South via Exit 52 toward Macon.  I 675 South becomes I 75 South, take Exit 205 toward Griffin/Jackson, then turn right onto GA 16.  Finally make a left onto Wilson Rd.


 

30 August Bob Blastow Early Bird Alexander Invitational @ Clinton Farms

Top 8 race at 8 am, next 8 at 8:32 am and all others at 9:05 am

Directions: Take I-20 west. Get off on Exit 30 Post Rd. Go left and take the first right. That road is Ephesus Church Rd. Clinton Farms is 2.5 miles on your right. Please note there is a $5 parking fee.

4 October Asics/Alexander Invitational Top 10 race at 9 am, next 10 at 10 am and all others at 10:45 am.

Directions: Asics/ Alex Invitational @ McIntosh Nature Preserve:
Take I-20 to Exit 34 (Hwy 5). Go south on Hwy 5. You will stay on Hwy 5 for approximately 25 miles. You will cross Hwy 166 and Hwy 27alt. McIntosh is approximately 2 miles on your left once you have passed Hwy 27alt. You will see signs directing you where to turn and where to park.
Please note there is a $5 parking fee.

Coach D. Guilbeau

Coach Guilbeau is a Yankee transplant from Pennsylvania. She ran collegiate cross country at Duquesne University.

She holds a BA in Political Science and Spanish from Duquesne, an MA in Spanish from the Univ. of  Tennessee and an Ed. S in Language Education from the Univ. of  Georgia.

She is in her 14th season of coaching the St. Pius X Girls CC Team. During these 14 seasons the team has won a state championship title and nine state runner-up titles.  Several runners have continued on to heralded collegiate running careers at universities such as: Villanova, Univ. of Alabama, Dayton, Georgia Tech,  Univ. of Georgia,  Elon, Furman,  Regis,  Clemson, Xavier, Samford and Georgia College & State University.

Coach Guilbeau enjoys running, swimming and cycling.  Most of all she loves playing soccer with her Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Mc Cartney.

Coach S. Geiger

Sara Geiger is a Samford Univ. and Parkview H.S. grad. Sara is also the St. Pius X Girls' Soccer Coach. She was a collegiate soccer player and swam, ran cc, played basketball and soccer at Parkview. Sara teaches math.

 

Coach M. Tuura

Marylyn Tuura  is a 2nd year coach. She works in the Business Office at St. Pius and is the mother of Logan '06 and Megan '03. Marylyn and her husband Tom have a Cardi-Welsh Corgi named Davy and a kitty named Buster.

Coach A. Marriott
Ashley Marriott is a 2nd year coach and former St. Pius runner. She is a 2002 graduate of St. Pius and a 2006 of UGA. Ashley teaches journalism at St. Pius. and has a Boston Terrier named Boomer.
