Joe
Eineker
HEAD VARSITY |
Joe Eineker enters his
third year at St. Pius X Catholic High School. He comes to
us from Milton High School where as the head coach he led the program
to two consecutive state sweet sixteen appearances, including a
24 win season in 2005-2006. Prior to joining Milton, Joe was
an assistant coach at Chattahoochee High School under then head
coach Duke Mullis, where he helped lead their program to three region
championship games, winning two Region Championships in 2002-2003
and 2003-2004; the sweet sixteen twice and one elite eight appearance
2003-2004. A graduate of Montclair State University 1994,
Joe played college basketball for two years at Washington College
in Maryland and began his coaching career in his hometown of Bloomfield,
NJ. He teaches in the study support program at St. Pius X.
He and his wife, Calandra reside in Alpharetta and have two children,
Sydney, age 5, and David, 3. |

Don
sherwood
VARSITY ASSISTANT |
Coach
Sherwood begins his fifth year at St. Pius X as an assistant coach.
He is coming from LaFayette High School, where as the head coach
he rebuilt a decimated “Rambler” program and was named North Georgia
Coach of The Year by the Chattanooga Times-Free Press in 2004. Coach
Sherwood has also been the head coach at St. Andrew’s School, Wayne
County H.S. and Mount de Sales Academy. At Mount de Sales Sherwood’s
teams had an 83 – 21 record, won three regular season region championships
and one state championship. Coach Sherwood teaches Math and
Health at St. Pius X. He and his wife Caran have two boys, Thomas,
age 10 and Nathan, age 8. |

KEITH
PITTMAN
JUNIOR VARSITY &
8TH GRADE |
Coach
Pittman, a 1985 St. Pius X alum, enters his thirteenth year as a
community coach at St. Pius X. Coach Pittman has been the JV basketball
coach since 1998. His mother was in the first SPX graduating class
in 1959 where she played on the first girls' basketball team – coached
by the legendary George B. Maloof. Coach Pittman's favorite parts
of coaching are getting to know the players better and going to
summer camp, where his teams can hopefully show other parts of the
country a better brand of basketball. |

Cohen
JUNIOR VARSITY ASSISTANT |
Coach
Cohen was a 4 year starter at North Springs High School, where he
was named captain his Sophomore year and remained captain until
he graduated. Coach Cohen then went on to play at Oglethorpe University.
This
is his second year coaching at St. Pius X. |

Rick
Smith
FRESHMAN
|
Rick is in his sixth year
with the SPX program, serving as the freshman coach. A graduate
of Columbia High School and DeKalb College, Rick was a multi-sport
athlete at both. Rick has coached for 27 years with stops at Columbia
High School, Clarkston High School, and Bethune Middle School.
Rick and his wife Allison have 3 children, Derek a junior
at Anderson College, Alaina a freshman at Converse College, and
Ricky Jr in the 9th grade. |

Butch
liddell
7TH GRADE |
Coach
Liddell enters his fifth season as the 7th grade basketball coach.
A graduate of Sequoyah High School in Doraville, Georgia, Coach
Liddell played basketball and baseball at Middle Georgia College
before moving on to play basketball at Georgia Southern. While at
Middle Georgia, Coach Liddell's basketball team finished 9th in
the nation among Junior Colleges. Prior to coming to coach at St.
Pius X, Coach Liddell coached in the St. Thomas More program for
4 seasons. Butch is currently employed by Tal-Kno Building Products
and has a wife, Glenna, and son, Blake, who was a Student Assistant
for the boy's basketball program and graduated in 2006 and is presently
attending Georgia Tech majoring in Mechanical Engineering.

Juan
Sans
6th
Grade
This is Juan's second season as the 6th grade basketball coach at
SPX. A graduate of GMC High School in middle Georgia
where he was a multi-sport athlete including being a four year
starter on the varsity basketball team. Juan is also a graduate
of the United States Military Academy. He has coached
every grade level of basketball at Immaculate Heart of Mary. Juan
and his wife, Kari, have two children, Sebastian a sophomore at
SPX and Addison an 8th grader at IHM. Juan is currently employed
by Hitachi Data Systems as Senior Director of Global Compensation
and Performance Management. |

Todd
Davis
6th
Grade
Todd
has coached youth basketball for 9 years. He has coached varying
levels from 7 year olds at All Saints Catholic Church in Dunwoody
to 14 and under AAU out of St. Pius. His favorite part of coaching
is watching the growth in the players and the increased self esteem
that added confidence brings. Todd was a multi-sport athlete in
high school where he grew up in northern Ohio . He attended the
Ohio State University for both undergrad and dental school. Todd
and his wife, Lisa, have three boys. Dillon and Spencer are a junior
and sophomore, respectively, at St. Pius. Ian is a seventh grader
at St. Jude.

Dwight
Smith
6
th Grade
Dwight
has been coaching youth sports for the past seven years. He has
been coaching the past five years at All Saints Catholic Church
in Dunwoody. He also has been coaching baseball and football at
Murphey Candler Park the past six years. Dwight is a graduate of
Peachtree High School in Dunwoody where he played five years of
basketball. Dwight and his wife Erin have three children, Katie,
a sophomore at SPX; Kyle a 7th grader at Peachtree Middle School
; and Kevin, who is in 6th grade. Dwight is currently employed as
a senior tax manager at Frazier & Deeter, LLC. |
