PROPER USE OF THE ST. PIUS X NAME, CREST AND LION

The St. Pius X school name, crest (or logo), and lion are important brands that need to be properly and consistently used in marketing the school. Recognition of these items are very important as we promote ourselves to a highly competitive market. Administration, faculty, staff, coaches, and school and parent organizations must observe the following “acceptable use regulations” when designing uniforms, issuing publications, sending mailings, etc.:

NAME

  • The official school name is “St. Pius X Catholic High School.” This is preferred over “St. Pius X High School.” St. Pius High School should not be used.
  • When “St. Pius X” is used in formal publications, on uniforms, or on signage the “X” should be included at all times. “St. Pius” without the “X” is still acceptable in casual or colloquial use.
  • Any St. Pius X documents sent from the school, or any stationery, checks, report cards, etc. that include a return address, should have the web site address listed with the return address as follows:

St. Pius X Catholic High School
2674 Johnson Road, NE
Atlanta , GA 30345-1720

CREST

  • There are two versions of the school crest—the formal crest with the shield and the informal chi-rho without the shield. The formal crest should be used in all formal publications (e.g. magazines, stationery, checks, graduation invitations), and may be used on spiritwear and uniforms. The informal chi-rho may be used in informal publications (e.g. flyers, posters) and clothing. The informal crest is the preferable version for use for athletic team game and practice uniforms, but it must include the “ St. Pius X” name with it in some way. For example, the chi-rho could appear on the shorts of a uniform as long as “St. Pius X” appeared elsewhere on the uniform. Electronic copies of the logo may be obtained from the Publications Coordinator in the Development Office.
  • Either version of the crest should be displayed on virtually every print document or piece of clothing we disseminate. If in doubt, see the Director of Development.
  • The crests should not be altered in any way either by adding, eliminating, or moving words or details.
  • If you plan to use either version of the crest in one color on paper the crest may only be black, navy blue (PMS 288 if sent to a printer), or metallic (true) gold (PMS 873). For use on clothing, the formal or informal crest may be navy blue, metallic (true) gold, white, or yellow gold.
  • The offical crest has five colors. If you elect to use multiple colors in the crest, you may use 2, 3, 4, or 5 colors. You must, however, see the Publications Coordinator for approved color schemes.

LION

  • The only lion that may be used on publications, uniforms, stationery, etc. is available from the Publications Coordinator of the Director of Development.
